Frazadas come out of a much older textile tradition in Bolivia and the surrounding Andes that dates back to pre-Columbian civilizations.
There’s a quiet kind of magic in these old Bolivian frazadas, the kind you don’t notice all at once, but feel over time. Each one was woven by hand, high in the mountains, not to be sold, but to be lived with… wrapped around shoulders on cold mornings, laid across beds, carried through daily life. You can see it in the softened wool, the uneven stripes, the colors that don’t quite match but somehow belong together. Nothing rushed, nothing repeated. Just the mark of a single maker, working with what was around them, trusting their hands. They feel honest in that way, like something made slowly, with care, meant to last and to hold a story long after it leaves where it began.
